Our Specialties

Therapy approaches are grounded in evidence-based, client-centered care with a focus on resilience and long-term well-being.

  • Big Feelings, Little Humans, Gentle Help

This is my motto for working with children. As a former school counselor, I understand how important it is to support both kids and the grown-ups who love them. Childhood is full of big emotions, rapid growth, and moments that can feel overwhelming—for kids and parents alike.

I help children thrive at school and at home by offering unconditional, nonjudgmental support for their growing hearts and minds. Therapy focuses on helping kids understand and express their emotions, build confidence, and develop practical tools for emotional regulation, coping, and problem-solving—while also partnering with caregivers to support consistency and growth beyond therapy.

  • Growing Up Is Hard. You Don’t Have to Do It Alone.

Hormones. Relationships. School pressure. Activities. Body image. Self-esteem. And the constant question of what comes next? Being a teen or pre-teen today is a lot—and sometimes it’s hard to know how to navigate it all.

Add in social media, constant distractions, and the pressure to keep up, and it becomes even more challenging to build healthy relationships and a strong sense of self. As parents, we love our kids deeply, but they don’t always come to us for advice or support during this stage of life.

I offer a nonjudgmental, supportive space where teens and pre-teens can feel heard, understood, and empowered. Together, we work on emotional regulation, confidence, communication, and coping skills—helping your son or daughter reconnect with their strengths and build resilience as they move through this important season of growth.

  • Motherhood Is Beautiful. And It Is Hard.

Whew—mom life. It can feel overwhelming even before that little bundle arrives. Many women find themselves searching for a “rule book” for pregnancy and parenting, or feeling buried under endless advice, opinions, and expectations. It’s a lot to carry.

No two stories are the same. I want to meet you exactly where you are throughout your perinatal and postpartum journey—with compassion, calm, and without judgment. You can deeply love your baby and still feel exhausted, disconnected, or like you’re barely staying afloat. Whether you’re simply trying to survive or hoping to truly thrive in this new chapter, we can walk through it together with grace, support, and care.

At Native Roots Health and Wellness, healing begins by slowing down, reconnecting with what grounds you, and creating space for hope to grow.

Our Approach To Therapy

Care at Native Roots Health and Wellness is rooted in evidence-based, trauma-informed, and client-centered therapy. This means your experiences, values, and goals guide the work we do together. Therapy is collaborative and paced with intention, creating a space where you or your child feel safe, respected, and supported as you navigate life’s challenges.

Sessions may incorporate trauma-informed care, support for anxiety and mood-related concerns, attachment- and strengths-based approaches, and practical coping tools alongside deeper emotional processing. The focus is not only on reducing symptoms, but on building long-term resilience, self-understanding, and emotional well-being.

Who We Are

Rooted in compassion.
Guided by hope.

Welcome to Native Roots Health & Wellness. I’m Gretchen Hind, LPC, and I’m genuinely grateful that you’re here. Mental health challenges are something nearly half of individuals will experience at some point in their lives—and if that’s you, you are not alone.

As part of a fifth-generation ranching family, I deeply value being grounded—connected to the land, to our values, and to something greater than ourselves. The name Native Roots came to me, as a name that reflects strength, resilience, and natural beauty. The sunrise represents hope: a reminder that even after the hardest nights, a new day is always possible.

I firmly believe this hope is available no matter your season of life.  Through every stage of motherhood, I want to help my clients feel restored and strong. I wish to put a smile on a child’s face and give them coping skills that leave them feeling more confident and comfortable to face each day. Similarly, I will work to walk alongside teenagers as they find their voice, build resilience, and grow into who they are meant to be.

I know taking that step to seek help is hard. You took the first step by being here. I hope you find something on the page that spoke to you— and I hope to meet you soon.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to come in person?

1

Right now, we offer telehealth and travel therapy. That means we have a secure portal set up that we can do a video call through for your sessions. This is an amazing option so you don’t have to trek across town, you can do it from the comfort of your home. I also can come to you if you’re needing more in-person support.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

2

You don’t need to be in crisis—or have a clear “reason”—to benefit from therapy. Many clients seek support for anxiety, emotional overwhelm, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck. If something in your life feels heavy, confusing, or harder to manage on your own, therapy can be a meaningful place to start.

What can I expect during my first session?

3

The first session is a chance to slow down, share what brings you in, and begin building a therapeutic relationship. There’s no pressure to talk about everything at once. We’ll focus on understanding your concerns, answering questions, and discussing goals in a way that feels comfortable and supportive.

Is therapy confidential?

4

Yes. Your privacy and confidentiality are a top priority. Therapy sessions are confidential, with a few legal and ethical exceptions that will be reviewed at the start of care. Creating a safe, trusting space is essential to the healing process.
